Bidding on this 1939 UT vs Alabama ticket stub is at $202.50 and still going strong with 5 days left.
Update: Guess it wasn’t “still going strong”. It just sold for $202.50. Still quite a price for an old ticket stub.

New UT mens basketball player Renaldo Woolridge as skilled behind mic as on court. Nice article from Gary Parrish of CBSSports.com. Be sure to check out Renaldo’s latest rap: Baller Vol (very professional). Basketball season can’t get here fast enough!
A custom H3 Hummer No price and no average MPG listed, go figure…
How about dem Lady Vols? National Champions for the 8th time, all under the leadership of Pat Summitt. Found this insightful Pat Summitt story in todays St. Petersburg Times. The best line:
Think of it like this. If Summitt was on the Memphis sideline on Monday night, don’t you think the Tigers might have had a better chance to hang on against Kansas? Yeah, me too.
Former Vol R.A. Dickey teaches Jim Caple of ESPN.com how to catch the knuckle ball.. well sorta.. lol
Via The Vol Historian: Ernie G of Tennessee
Citing his love for the game, Ernie had a great line for Marvin West, who covered Ernie’s time at Tennessee for the then Knoxville News-Sentinel.
“I just enjoy going onto the blacktop and working in my jump shot,” he said.
West couldn’t resist another question. “How about a hot afternoon by yourself, just shooting and chasing rebounds?” he asked.
Grunfeld’s reply was on message: “There are not that many rebounds when I shoot.”
I will never forget the Kentucky game at Stokley during in the 1976-77 season (Ernie’s senior year). I sat in the student section. Acually, sat isn’t exactly right: I stood the whole first half and stood on my chair for the entire second half. Best basketball game I have ever attended and I’ve been to many. Ernie and Bernie were magic that night.
Coach Pearl being his usual impressive self on the Jim Rome show.
Via X Smack: Awesome story on Bruce Pearl at SI.com.

Just finished reading Vertical Leap, an inside story into the Tennessee Volunteers 2006-2007 basketball season by Dane Bradshaw. Vertical Leap will never be a literary classic but, a good read for all Vol Basketball fans.
