Web apps

Via instapundit: Top 5 Little Web Apps You Might Not Be Using (But Should) I like this one:

Todoist.com–Developed by a “computer science student [with] 2 part-time jobs”, Todoist is a web application that basically functions as a personal assistant, or like a cloud of Post-It notes that follows you everywhere. Create a hierarchical calendar with your to-do items, and Todoist will contact you with recurring reminders via email or SMS, or through its integration with iGoogle, Quicksilver, Netvibes, and more.

Instructables.com bills itself as “The Worlds Biggest Show and Tell”. Not sure about that, but it is pretty cool.  DIY projects, recipes, and much more.

Print your own 2008 calendar

Via Downloadsquad.com:

With 2008 fast approaching, if you’re needing a printed calendar in time for the new year, your opportunities to grab one are fast running out. Thankfully CreativeTechs have posted three rather nifty calendars and templates for you to use. Along with a compact calendar, there’s a clever business-card sized calendar to slip in your wallet and even an Adobe InDesign template if you’re wanting to create something a little more bespoke in your free time.

Another few options include the basic calendar from TimeAndDate.com, Jim’s Graphix 2008 Calendar and Microsoft has a plethora of Office-format calendars available to download from Microsoft Office Online.

Craigslist

Craigslist, the free online classified site seems to be finally catching on here in Knoxville. If you have anything to sell or are looking to pick something up on the cheap, this is the place to do it. Lifehacker, just published this informative guide to selling on Craigslist. This compliments their earlier Power users guide to buying on Craigslist.

As with most everything on the web, it is buyer beware on Craigslist. There are tons of scams out there hidden among the good deals. Of course the best rule of thumb here is: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
