Amazon Kindle

On my recent trip to Orlando, I had the opportunity to check out the new Amazon Kindle wireless reading device and was quite impressed. So too was the actual owner (a business associate) of the device who happened to be in the book business (totally unrelated to Amazon). A sharp, clear, easy to read screen. Best of all, the books are priced very reasonable and always at your fingertips. Seemed like the ideal solution for busy business travelers. If I traveled more, I would definitely want one.

Google Book Search

Google Tutor offers A Quick Guide on the Google Book Search Update.

In a recent update to the site, Google has opened up to all an updated version of Book search that has been tested on some Google users for some time now. The update highlights the company’s efforts to encourage its users to have a more focused experience in the website: to go beyond searching for books, but searching for specific contents found in these books. For the book authors and publishers, their works gain more exposure to readers and researches; for Google, this means more opportunity for advertising targets.

Kind of a new school meets old school approach. I actually think this will be highly successful. You can try it for yourself here.
