Beacuse they are violating the credit card acceptance rules. They are not allowed to require ID!

Report them. 1-800-Visa-911 for Visa. Ask to file an incident report because the merchant required supplemental identification.

Have a look at the Washington Post's factcheck on Ayers. Obama was 8 years old at the time of the Weatherman events. Ayers was a professor of education at the University of Illinois and a former aide to Mayor Richard M. Daley. I think trying to demonize Obama for the Weatherman's actions is really grasping at straws.
