I rarely eat at Long John Silvers. However, tonight the wife and I both had a craving for fish. I pull into the drive thru and notice the car in front of me pulling away without ordering. I overheard something that sounded like: “I’m sorry we are out of..” Knowing that the last time I had visited this same Long John Silvers they were strangely “out of fish”, I pulled forward and immediately asked what they were out of. You guessed it… Long John Silvers was out of fish. The place basically sells one thing, and they are out of it the last two times I have visited. Don’t believe I will bother going back.

What did I do instead? I pulled across the street and purchased chicken from KFC … better grease than Long Johns… less fishy… lol

As I mentioned before, I recently celebrated my birthday. I’m now 49 years old and my mom still buys be a birthday present every year (Love ya Mom!). This year she bought me a Tennessee Vols hooded sweatshirt. A few days after bringing it home, I noticed it still had the store security tag attached (don’t you hate it when stores leave those darn things on… and yes, I’m quite positive my mom did not shoplift!) Anyway, I checked with mom to see if she still had the receipt. She said she did, I told her I would pick it up the next time I came to visit.

With the upcoming predicted cold weekend, I decided I might want to wear that nice new sweatshirt before my next visit to moms and then to the unmentioned not so bright store where she had purchased the shirt. Being the industrious guy I am, I decided I would just take the darn thing off myself. I broke out my trusty Klein cutting tool and tore into it. About 3 minutes later, I had the tag free and a big smile on my face.

I turned the shirt over to pull the tag off and just then did I see: “Warning - Tampering with inktag releases ink and could cause injury”. Ummmm there went the smile. I knew I was not injured and had not seen any ink. Upon further inspection, I removed the tag and turned it over. Sure enough, there were two small viles of what I’m guessing is ink fully intact. I guess the moral of this story is: If you are going to mess with these tags, do like I luckily did and attack from the rear.
